Project Statement
Tattoos may be designed to depict a journey or a specific experience in an individual’s life. For transmasculine people, the story represented by the tattoo often includes aspects of the process through which many of us realize our identities and /or express our true selves.
With this project, I seek to capture narratives within our community that are expressed through tattoos. Although the body art is an important part of the message, the focus is on the individuals and the stories they want to tell.
I would be interested in knowing what the ratio of trans guys is to have ink , being one who does, not that it is directly linked to me being trans more to having an addiction to ink. I would also love to know what culture base most of the ink seems to be in eg. Tribal ( Nate I belive it is ) Chinese , Japanese , European

Those are good questions Seto – thanks for posting them.
Maybe I should put up a survey on the blog to address those questions. First, I need to get the traffic to the blog up a big. It’s not getting many hits right now, so the response to a survey would be relatively limited. But I will keep these questions in mind.
And you’re correct – Nate’s half-sleeve is Tribal.

I’m definitely very interested in this although i don’t have any super awesome important ink on myself yet. My friend, however, whom is also a photographer recently got the outline of a phoenix feather done along his top surgery scar. it’s super awesome and i think he’d be willing to pose for this when it’s filled in with color and such.
